California Court of Appeal Upholds Rounding Case Ruling for Edgeworth Client

An Edgeworth client won a class action matter alleging improper rounding at a California hotel in 2017, and Plaintiffs appealed that decision. In October 2019, the California Court of Appeal upheld the lower court’s ruling, while providing critical clarification regarding issues of rounding and regular rate of pay in California law. In its decision on rounding, the Court of Appeal cited and relied upon Dr. Foster’s declaration and supporting exhibits. In addition, the Court cited another California ruling in which Dr. Foster also served as the defense’s rounding expert.
