Edgeworth Economics Announces Formal Launch of Consumer Protection Practice
In an environment of heightened regulatory focus on consumer protection issues at both the federal and state levels, Edgeworth Economics announces the formal launch of its Consumer Protection practice. Edgeworth’s team of Consumer Protection experts serves clients managing claims of economic injury and damages in the areas of false advertising and product liability, data privacy, and consumer financial services.
Recently enhanced by the addition of Dr. Branko Jovanovic, a consumer protection veteran with over 20 years of experience in economic consulting, the team supports clients in both class action and individual action litigation related to allegations of product mislabeling or defects, cyberattack liability, false advertising, violations of the False Claims Act, and unfair or deceptive practices. The expansion of Edgeworth’s Consumer Protection team and the formalization of the practice are a direct response to the growing need for sophisticated economic analysis in this increasingly litigated space.
In addition to Dr. Jovanovic, Edgeworth’s Consumer Protection leadership team includes partners Dr. Jesse David and Michael Kheyfets, and managing principal Sushrut Jain. Each of these team members has significant experience supporting clients in numerous consumer protection matters across industries.
Edgeworth’s CEO, Dr. John H. Johnson, commented, “While Edgeworth has consistently served clients in consumer protection matters throughout the life of the firm, the formal launch of this practice is a logical and exciting step as we continue to increase our capabilities in this space. The formalization of our Consumer Protection practice emphasizes the importance of this part of our business to the firm and our commitment to growing it in the future.”
