Damages Estimates in Labor Consulting

Edgeworth Partner Dr. Nathan D. Woods was retained by an energy company to assess its payroll practices and determine extent to which the company was failing to meet FLSA thresholds related to the proper payment of overtime premiums and regular rate calculations.

For his analysis, Dr. Woods examined payroll and other personnel data records for thousands of employees working under different collective bargaining agreements in diverse facilities spread across 10 states. Using this information Dr. Woods prepared estimates of back page damages after incorporating appropriate offsets.

Following his analysis, Dr. Woods assisted in company efforts to communicate the results of his analysis to stakeholders, including affected employee groups.
