Meet the DC Data Analytics Firm Tracking Covid Cases in NFL Cities
A September 9, 2020 article in the Washington Business Journal profiles Edgeworth Economics's sister company Edgeworth Analytics and its recent work helping the National Football League Players Association track the spread of COVID-19 in NFL cities.
“With the NFL season set to start Thursday, college campuses reopening and other events that can spur outbreaks, it’s ‘a very dynamic situation,’ said John Johnson, co-founder and CEO of Edgeworth. ‘So part of what we’re really excited about with this project is it just gives us a chance to use our skills, provide some really good information and synthesize data in a really simple way.’”
Edgeworth’s profile in the WBJ also highlights the origins of the firm: “Edgeworth Economics’ expansion into data analytics ‘struck me as a good way to diversify the company,’ Johnson said, ‘where we could take the same data skills or rigor and ability to explain things simply that we do with litigation in the courtroom, and apply it outside the courtroom.’”
