Getting to Class – An Expert’s Eye View of Damages Calculations

The State Bar of California will offer this continuing legal education webinar on the subject of class certification and experts’ view on damages calculations in the context of litigation in the “Food Court” (retail food product cases). In recent rulings, courts have indicated that they require plaintiffs to offer a classwide damages approach at the class certification stage, and plaintiffs' experts have responded with proposing (and sometimes performing) some combination of conjoint survey analysis and hedonic regression analysis. Edgeworth Principal Sushrut Jain will present an analysis of the economics of hedonic regression and its relevance and applicability in food law cases.
