Bio

Dr. Paola Valenti is a Lecturer in Discipline of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and an Academic Affiliate at Edgeworth Economics. She is an economist with expertise in applied microeconomics, applied econometrics, and the economics of antitrust and intellectual property.

Dr. Valenti teaches graduate courses in microeconomics and policy analysis at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where she received the 2010 and the 2014 Outstanding Teaching Award.

Dr. Valenti possesses over a decade of consulting experience in matters related to antitrust allegations, including monopolization, tying, price fixing, and predatory pricing. She has also consulted on issues arising from assessing impact and damages in class action litigations. She specializes in the analysis of complex datasets and the application of econometric techniques to antitrust matters.

Dr. Valenti received her PhD in economics from Cornell University, Dottorato di Ricerca in economics from University of Rome "La Sapienza," her MSc in economics from CORIPE Piemonte and her Laurea in economics, summa cum laude, from University of Rome "La Sapienza."
