Dr. John Johnson Publishes on Calculating Antitrust Damages

Jul 8, 2011

In a recent treatise, Calculating and Proving Damages, Edgeworth President and CEO Dr. John H. Johnson and Mr. Joseph A. Ostoyich of Baker Botts discuss the economics and methodological approaches behind calculating Antitrust Damages.  While the authors explain that the differing aspects of cases make a universal approach difficult, they offer readers insight into some of the broad principles that govern methodologies and the basics of damages modeling, including the types of information that can be useful to obtain during discovery, defining relevant markets, using benchmarks, issues of causality, and, generally, the approach to lost profits damages.
